⁵ This is the message we have heard from Him and proclaim to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. ⁶ If we say that we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. ⁷ But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
1 John 1:5-7
22 Now when the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord, 23 as it is written in the law of the Lord, That every male that opens the womb should be holy to the Lord, 24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what is said in the law of the Lord: two turtledoves or two young pigeons.
25 Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. He was a righteous and devout man, waiting for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for Him the custom of the law, ²⁸ he took Him in his arms, blessed God, and said, ²⁹ Now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, O Lord, according to thy word, ³⁰ for mine eyes have seen thy salvation ³¹ which thou hast prepared before the face of all people, ³² a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
Luke 2:22-32
⁸ The voice of your watchmen—they lift up their voice, and they sing together, for their eyes have seen that the LORD has returned to Zion.
⁹ Break forth into song, sing together, you waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD has comforted his people; he has redeemed Jerusalem. ¹⁰ The LORD has made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the people; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.
Isaiah 52:8-10
