Esto mihi – The Sacrificial Way of God’s Love (02.03.25)

Sermon

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, ¹⁹ by which also he went and preached to the spirits in prison, ²⁰ in times past to those who were disobedient to God’s longsuffering, which waited for them in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared: in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. ²¹ So now baptism, a figure like this, not the removal of the filthiness of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience to God, saves us through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, ²² who, having ascended into heaven, is on the right hand of God, and to whom the angels and authorities and powers were made subject.

1 Peter 3:18-22

¹³ Behold, My Servant will prosper, He will be exalted, and exalted, and be very great. ¹⁴ As many were astonished at You, so His visage was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men. ¹⁵ So He will astonish many nations; Kings will shut their mouths at Him; For what was not told them shall they see, And what they had not heard shall they understand.

Isaiah 52:13-15
