📖Daniel 9:4

And I prayed to the LORD my God, and made confession, and said, “O Lord, great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant and mercy with those who love Him, and with those who keep His commandments, ⁵ “we have sinned and committed iniquity, we have done wickedly and rebelled, even by departing from Your precepts and Your judgments. ⁶ “Neither have we heeded Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings and our princes, to our fathers and all the people of the land. ⁷ “O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us shame of face, as it is this day — to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those near and those far off in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of the unfaithfulness which they have committed against You. ⁸ “O Lord, to us belongs shame of face, to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You. ⁹ “To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against Him. ¹⁰ “We have not obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in His laws, which He set before us by His servants the prophets. …¹⁸ “O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies. ¹⁹ “O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.”

📖1 John 1:8

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us. 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

📖Matthew 23:1 

Then Jesus spoke to the multitudes and to His disciples, ² saying: “The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. ³ “Therefore whatever they tell you to observe, that observe and do, but do not do according to their works; for they say, and do not do. ⁴ “For they bind heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers. ⁵ “But all their works they do to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their garments. ⁶ “They love the best places at feasts, the best seats in the synagogues, ⁷ “greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called by men, ‘Rabbi, Rabbi.’ ⁸ “But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi’; for One is your Teacher, the Christ, and you are all brethren. ⁹ “Do not call anyone on earth your father; for One is your Father, He who is in heaven. ¹⁰ “And do not be called teachers; for One is your Teacher, the Christ. ¹¹ “But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant. ¹² “And whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.

📖1 Pet 5:5

“God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”

Lord God, Heavenly Father, Putting down the mighty and raising up the humble, we pray: protect us from trusting in our own service or good works, rather let us always depend on Your unlimited mercy and our redemption.  Let us in our weakness see new life, filled with Your Glory and true humility through Jesus Christ our Lord…🙏
