✝️ Sowing the Word (08.02.26)

Sermon 🕊️

📖 Luke 8:4-15

Now when a great multitude had gathered, and people from every city came to Him, He began to speak in a parable:

A sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the wayside and was trampled underfoot, and the birds of the air devoured it.

But other fell on a rock, and when it had sprung up, it withered away, because it had no moisture.

But other fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it.

But other fell on good ground, and when it had sprung up, it brought forth fruit an hundredfold. And when He had spoken these things, He cried out, “Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear!”

Then His disciples asked Him, “What might this parable mean?”

He said, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to others in parables, so that seeing they may not perceive, and hearing they may not understand.”

This is the meaning of this parable: The seed is the word of God.

But that which fell by the wayside are those who hear, to whom the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, lest they believe and be saved.

But that which fell on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy, but who have no root, and believe for a time, but in time of temptation fall away.

But that which fell among the thorns are they who, when they go away, are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life and bear no fruit.

But that which fell on the good ground are they who, in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it and bear fruit with patience. Having said this, He cried out: He who has ears to hear, let him hear!🙏
