1 Corinthians 13
¹ If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, then I am a sounding gossamer or a sounding cymbal. ² If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries, and have all knowledge and all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but do not have love, then I am nothing. ³ And if I give away all my possessions and give my body to be burned, and do not have love, it does me no good.
⁴ Love is patient, merciful, love does not envy, love does not exalt itself, is not proud, ⁵ does not behave unruly, does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not think evil, ⁶ does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth; ⁷ covers everything, believes everything, hopes everything, endures everything.
⁸ Love never fails, although prophecy will cease, and tongues will be silent, and knowledge will be abolished. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part; ¹⁰ When the perfect comes, then that which is in part will cease.
¹¹ When I was a child, I spoke like a child, thought like a child, reasoned like a child; and when he became a husband, he left behind his children. ¹² Now we see as if through a glass darkly, fortune-telling, but then face to face; Now I know in part, and then I will know, even as I am known.
¹³ And now these three remain: faith, hope, love; but love is the greatest of them all.
1 Timothy 2:4-6
⁴Who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. ⁵ For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, ⁶ who gave himself as a ransom for all. This was the testimony in its time,
John 12:25-33
²⁵ He who loves his soul will destroy it; But he who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life. ²⁶Whoever serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there will my servant also be. And whoever serves Me, My Father will honor him.
²⁷ My soul is now troubled; and what should I say? Father! deliver Me from this hour! But for this hour I have come. ²⁸ Father! glorify Your name.
Then a voice came from heaven: I have glorified it and will glorify it again.
²⁹ The people standing and hearing it said, “This is thunder; and others said: The angel spoke to him.
³⁰ Jesus said to this: This voice was not for Me, but for the people. ³¹ Now is the judgment of this world; now the prince of this world will be cast out. ³² And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to Me. ³³ He said this, making it clear by what kind of death He would die.
