Invocavit – Jesus is our victory in temptation (18.02.24)

James 1:12-15

¹² Blessed is the man who endures temptation, because, having been tried, he will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him. ¹³ When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me”; because God is not tempted by evil and He Himself does not tempt anyone, ¹⁴ but everyone is tempted by being carried away and deceived by his own lust; ¹⁵ But lust, having conceived, gives birth to sin, and when sin is committed, it gives birth to death.

Matthew 16:21-23

²¹ From that time on, Jesus began to reveal to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be resurrected on the third day.
²² And, calling Him away, Peter began to rebuke Him: Be merciful to Yourself, Lord! let this not happen to you!
²³ He turned and said to Peter: get away from Me, Satan! you are a temptation to me! because you think not about the things of God, but about the things of men.
